The film follows Tom Ripley, a young man tasked with bringing his wealthy friend and his girlfriend home from Italy, but has ulterior motives to make their glamorous lifestyle his own. Although the movie is set in the gorgeous seasides of 1950s Italy, the actual plot of the film is much darker and more sinister.
6 X Want gore with a disturbing twist? A24's horror movie, X is certainly up that alley. The movie portrays a crew of young people intent on making an adult film during a 1970s summer who find themselves filming on the dangerous property of a creepy old couple. This is yet another film with an amazing vintage ambiance, and it certainly balances on an erotic edge. No one is safe in this film and its brutal deaths are reminiscent of the great horror movies of the 1970s.
