One person died in an overnight fire at an apartment complex on the northwest side of Houston, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters responded around 3:40 a.m. to a report of an apartment on fire in the 6200 block of W. Tidwell, officials with the fire department told On Scene reporters.One unit in the complex had caught on fire. Firefighters found the person dead inside after extinguishing the blaze, officials said.
