Two charged with murdering wheelchair user at his home in Birmingham

Two men have been charged with murdering a wheelchair user who died six days after being assaulted and robbed in his home in Birmingham.

Robert Morrison, 69, was attacked in King's Heath at about 11.30pm on 10 December last year and later died from pneumonia.

Ian Knowles, 18, from Smethwick, and Ismaila Mohamed, 19, from Hay Mills, had both previously been charged with robbery.

On Monday, West Midlands Police said the pair have now been charged with murder and an alternative charge of manslaughter.

Knowles is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Mohamed appeared at the same court on Monday and has been sent to appear at the city's crown court on Wednesday.
