It’s fair to say that last summer’s series finale of Big Little Lies left us with a lot of questions. Mainly: what am I supposed to watch now that will be able to fill that BLL-shaped space? Luckily, Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley has teamed up with award-winning Bird Box director Susanne Bier to bring us brand new psychological thriller The Undoing. It's a six-part limited series that stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, and promises all the suspense, drama and mystery.
What’s The Undoing about?
Based on Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel ‘You Should Have Known’, The Undoing focuses on an Upper East Side therapist, Grace Fraser, whose seemingly perfect life is about to implode. The official synopsis (via HBO) reads:
The limited series The Undoing stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant as Grace and Jonathan Fraser, who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Overnight a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child (Noah Jupe) and her family.
Speaking at a TCA panel, Kidman said, "The great thing about the series – and what really drew me to it – is that it’s so twisty and nothing is as it seems." To appreciate the full impact of these twists, we recommend reading the book AFTER you’ve finished the series.

When is The Undoing on TV?
The suspense thriller was originally set to premiere in May 2020 on Sky Atlantic, but after being pushed back due to the pandemic, it will now air tonight [Monday October 26th] in the UK, which is a day after it aired on HBO in the US. You can catch up with the show weekly on Mondays on Sky Atlantic at 9pm and Now TV.
Who will star in The Undoing?
Did we mention it’s got Nicole Kidman starring in it? Joining her is Hugh Grant as her husband Jonathan Fraser, and Noah Jupe, who you may recognise from Honey Boy, as their son. The Undoing also stars Donald Sutherland as Grace's father Franklin Reinhardt, Edgar Ramirez (American Crime Story) and Lily Rabe (American Horror Story).
