PRC said that Million Volunteer Run 6 (MVR) is a virtual Bike and Run edition for cyclists, runners, and those who want to get into shape or adopt a healthy lifestyle. It kicked off on Jan. 20.

Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country, PRC said it transformed its annual event into a virtual run or bike edition where participants can finish their selected distance within a certain period, at their own pace, on their own time, and in their venue.

“Isa itong paraan upang makapag-raise ng funds to support our operations for COVID-19 and Typhoon responses. Magtulungan tayo upang matulungan natin ang higit na mga nangangailangan nating kababayan sa panahon ng sakuna at pandemya (This is a way to raise funds to support our operations for COVID-19 and Typhoon responses. Let's help each other in order to provide aid to those who need it the most especially amid the pandemic and calamities),” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sen. Dick Gordon said.

PRC mentioned that it continues to raise funds to support the ongoing COVID-19 and Typhoon Odette operations. This event aims to help the most vulnerable by providing life-saving projects such as isolation facilities, emergency field hospitals, vaccinations, testing, and relief operations to people affected by the recent typhoons.

Registration is still ongoing for those who want to participate in the event. The Bike or Run edition costs P585, while both Run and Bike registration fees are P1,085. The registration includes a raffle ticket for major and minor prizes, E-entitlements, and medals for the first 100 finishers.

"Join the Philippine Red Cross Million Volunteer Run 6, and together let us bike or run and make humanitarian services available to communities affected by the pandemic. To register, log on to https://www.runrio.com," PRC said.
