QC records more than 36,000 COVID-19 patients admitted in quarantine facilities


The Quezon City government announced on Saturday, Jan. 22 that the city has recorded a total of 36,821 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients were admitted to Hope Community Caring Facilities from March 2020 to December 2021.

Hope 2 Korphil led the list with the biggest number of COVID-19 patients admitted with 5,612, followed by Hope 3 Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Residence with 4,650.

Hope 4 Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) admitted 4,502 patients, while Hope 1 Fersal Hotel had 3,298 patients Hope 2 Belmonte with 3,006, and Hope 9 San Francisco High School with 2,937.

Patients admitted to the Hope 7 University of the Philippines (UP) Kamia were 2,356 and 2,305 were in Hope 2 TechVoc.

Hope 6 Emilio Jacinto Senior High School had 2,250 patients and Hope 2 Bautista had 2,000 patients.

Hope facilities with the least admitted COVID patients includes Hope 8 Ateneo with 943, Hope 5 Talipapa Senior High School with 839, Hope 12 San Bartolome Elementary School with 749, Hope 10 Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Elementary School with 696, and Hope 11 Kamuning Elementary School with 678.

The local government said those who were accepted among the Hope facilities underwent a thorough assessment first from the doctors.

They were also provided with hygiene kits and COVID-19 recovery kits that they used while temporarily staying at the facilities.

Doctors checked on them daily to make sure they are in good condition throughout their quarantine period.

Once the patients have recovered, the facilities will provide medical certificates and it will be delivered to their homes through the Barangay Health Emergency Response teams (BHERTs).

The city government added that health care workers in the Hope facilities have received their booster shots.(Cherrylin Caacbay)
