Zimbabwe, whose inflation rate is widely ranked as the second highest in the world after Venezuela, is experiencing its worst economic challenges with price increases at a ten-year high. In a statement seen by Business Day, Zimstat said that year-on-year food and nonalcoholic beverages inflation, stood at 126,43%, while the nonfood inflation rate was 85,94% .

Economists says real inflation could be much higher owing to the recent spate of price increases. Retailers have hiked commodities daily to keep up with the falling rate of the local currency to the US dollar.

The RTGS dollar also covers up production deficit created by zanu pf.they pint RTGS to buy USD instead of producing goods for export. Good for them, our Rand is to volatile and supper insensitive any way This Mnangagwa guy is not truthful, he adopted the USD because his personal businesses were benefiting from the USD more than the Rand. He runs a cartel of illegal gold miners and fuel dealers, he runs money exchanging cartels which he benefits heavily by using the USD
