Anti-crime activist has received anonymous threats since he posted the video of a motorist allegedly speeding at 308km/h on the N1 in Johannesburg. CapeTimesSA

Cape Town – Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee has laid criminal charges over a fake video of him speeding doing the rounds on social media, saying he will not be "intimidated".

Abramjee said he has received anonymous threats since he posted the video of a motorist allegedly speeding at 308km/h in an Audi TTS on the N1 in Johannesburg recently. At the weekend, Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula welcomed the arrest of a 36-year-old male, Phumlile Ncube, 36, at a funeral in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The alleged speedster, who resides in Midrand, was tracked down by undercover investigators. He was granted R1 000 bail.

CapeTimesSA I believe thIS. Cos thats how it is in this country. The evil does evil, and when caught out, the threats and the HITs happen. Just look at what happens in government. U do thEM wrong.. They take u out. OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE REALITY. DONT SHADE THIS MAN

Abramjee CapeTimesSA First of all, how dis he get the video 🤔🤔, or the 'DRIVER' posted to him? 🙄🙄🤔🤔🤔

CapeTimesSA Can we get news please

Nkanyiso_ngqulu CapeTimesSA I wonder how they are going to prove he is the one who was driving. I am equally puzzled by whether the surveillance cammras are also regarded as speed cameras.

CapeTimesSA Oh please... He is not an anti-crime activist. He is merely using the crime problem South Africa is experiencing because he wants to make money out of it. If he is really 'Anti-Crime' ask him how many hours per month does he spend in the CSC as a police reservist? YouDontFoolMe

Abramjee CapeTimesSA Ag please - get a grip
