Unisa campus security will enforce strict control measures after a would-be car thief was caught on camera breaking into a car at the Sunnyside campus on Monday.
A student filmed the man skilfully breaking into the vehicle and reported the incident to campus security. "Captain Mudau from Sunnyside SAPS indicated there has been an increase in the theft of motor vehicles in Sunnyside," Unisa told News24 in a statement. According to the university, CCTV cameras and retractable spikes will also be installed.
Police confirmed that the incidents were common in the area, but didn't have any further information.
