Negotiations are continuing between Numsa and the Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa. Workers rejected a 6% wage increase. Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola speaks more about the latest developments.
They must FINISH THIS STRIKE NOW. We must go back to work as workers on the ground our salaries will be affected NO WORK PAY for us.This union reps will get paid as usual they must consider & priorities employees

Everyone loses All the steel fabricatuon businesses see is an increase in the price of their input material, they don't get an increase in the prices, so their losses increase, no growth in revenue. The same impact on the wage increase, costs in the business increase, but prices do not.
