Leigh Matthews' family is opposing parole for her killer - Donovan Moodley. Moodley kidnapped and murdered the 21-year-old student in 2004. He confessed to the crime but has since tried to have the conviction overturned.
The way I understand it Moodly is denying his serious crime and nobody can grow when in denial. That means he is still a danger to society and must serve his total sentence in prison with only a short period - say 6 months - parole to monitor his integration back into society.
