LADYSMITH - The Minerals Resources Department is sending a team to Kwahlathi to investigate whether residents have discovered a massive trove of diamonds.
The KwaZulu-Natal government is appealing for calm after Kwahlathi residents and people from neighbouring towns flocked to the area to mine.Premier Sihle Zikalala has urged them to cease the illegal operations and allow the government team to inspect the site.
Even if this was real diamonds, as far as I know, you have to have a licence to sell them. So would be illegal for normal people to mine and sell. zamazamas
For heaven's sake! The kwaHlathi 'diamonds' could have been certified fake ages ago by any local jeweller! Don't know why the people who dug them up haven't done so already instead of posting on SocialMedia!
