Following the Constitutional Court’s dismissal of the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s application for the postponement of the elections, the 2021 South African municipal elections will now take place on 1 November 2021.

South Africans have the opportunity to vote responsibly for the chosen political leadership of their municipalities to ensure change and a better future. However, before we head to the polls to elect the right councils for all district, metropolitan and local municipalities in each of the country's nine provinces, let us wade through all the political noises so we can make the best decision for our communities.

The Democracy Development Program in partnership with the Mail & Guardian invites you to a webinar to unpack the socio-political landscape; forecast the outcomes based on available data and voting behaviour; assess potential impact of coalitions and evaluate the balance of power for the new municipal administrations.
