Mabasa facing strange challenge at new club Jul 1, 2022 - 05:00 pm By Staff Reporter Tshegofatso Mabasa’s move from Orlando Pirates to Sekhukhune United has been greeted with the challenging reality of providing answers to what was a strange situation at Babina Noko.Sekhukhune showed their intentions of competing for top honours next season after unveiling six additions to their squad, including Linda Mntambo.‘Fire’ Masilela’s Son To Be Unveiled In Gauteng Jun 30, 2022 - 05:00 pm By Masebe Qina After confirming six new signings this week, including two stars from Orlando Pirates, an ambitious DStv Premiership club is set to unveil one more player to the squad, the Siya crew has learnt. What Makes Maart A Perfect Fit For Chiefs? 25 Jun 29, 2022 - 01:50 pm By Tokelo Mokhesi A Sekhukhune United coach has explained in detail the qualities that makes Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing Yusuf Maart, a good fit at Naturena.

Mabasa has completed his move to Sekhukhune after battling his way through the past season at Pirates. The 25-year-old scored thrice in 22 games last term and is out to revive his career in his latest move. The Limpopo-based outfit is now expected to add Makhubu to their burgeoning squad after agreeing to personal terms with the player on Tuesday. He has arrived at Sekhukhune faced with complementing the efforts of Nigerian forward Chibuike Ohizu who scored eight league goals. Masiya was one of the outstanding players for Bakgaga with 25 appearances in the team’s unsuccessful 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign which ended in relegation. Scroll through the gallery to see 10 PSL stars who returned to coach their former sides Ohizu was the only man who scored more than two goals for the goal-shy Sekhukhune who had the worst attack in the league last season with a mere 21 goals. "It's almost a done deal," the source reveals to KickOff . Besides the eight league goals scored by Ohizu, Justin Shonga and Yusuf Maart had two each. “So I don’t see Yusuf failing at Chiefs and I’m hoping he adapts and shine as soon as possible.

Shonga was released while Maart moved on to Kaizer Chiefs. Makhubu's agent, Pontsho Madumo confirmed his client will be playing in the top-flight next season. The talented player previously also played for Swallows FC and has been with Baroka since 2020. The rest of the cast at Sekhukhune had a goal each in Tshediso Patjie, Prince Nxumalo, Edwin Gyimah, Pogiso Mahlangu, Vusi Mncube, Roderick Kabwe, Seth Parusnath, Willard Katsande and Nyiko Mobbie. This means Mabasa will be looking to supplement what Ohizu has done in attack and be an alternative source of goals. You know the clubs want to unveil the players themselves. Mabasa is a traditional number nine who has shown glimpses of being a source of goals but is yet to deliver consistently. He never got into double figures through all three years he spent at Pirates." Share.
