ANC leader Cyril Ramaphosa has used the party’s January 8 statement to reiterate the importance of a basic income grant for millions of poor, unemployed people.

“There is a clear need for some form of income support for unemployed and poor South Africans based on clear principles of affordability and sustainability.”
