Whether it is Cyril Ramaphosa or whoever at the helm, the ANC is too dirty to extricate itself from corruption. The party has run its course and has reached a dead end from which it cannot offer South Africans anything of value, writes vercingetorics
The ANC has run its course and has reached a dead end from which it is close to impossible for the party to offer South Africans anything of value.
Liberation struggle veteran Mac Maharaj often tells a story of how when it became clear that the criminal enterprise that was apartheid was going to crash, the ANC started conceiving grand plans about what the party would do to improve the lives of black people, once in government.
But what followed is nothing short of a miracle. In a matter of a few years the ANC built Treasury and the South African Revenue Service, collected billions in taxes and settled all the previous government’s debt. But the point of this opinion piece is that that ANC of the early mid 90s to early 2000s is gone.
So reprobate is Ramaphosa’s ANC that it saw nothing amiss with appointing Cassel Mathale as the deputy minister of police. The primary reasons why I think the ANC has run its course is because Zuma and Ramaphosa crash everything they touch.I recall that if I was a minute late, I missed train number 9022 which stopped at Naledi Station at 7am every morning.
The ANC has disemboweled Metrorail, which is now run by the Passenger Rail Association of South Africa (Prasa).Trains are always late. Quite often they don’t show up at all.In the mid 2000s South African Airways (SAA) made profits of close to a billion.
Just as recently as 2012, Eskom posted profits amounting to over R12 billion. As it is, Eskom presents the biggest risk to this economy.Whenever corruption at Transnet is mentioned what comes to mind is the 1064 locomotives involving the Gupta family. All state-owned companies are captured by different factions of the ANC.
Sadly, all these companies have the potential to flourish and contribute taxes to the fiscus and create much needed jobs. They are all characterised by crumbling infrastructure, potholes, raw sewer spilling into the streets and erratic water supply, if any at all.
There are theories that in some cases water supply is deliberately tampered with so that it is carted through trucks in order to benefit ANC politicians. The party has hit a dead end. It doesn’t have any new ideas.

Jed38111039 This journalist is smoking something very strong Maybe of the can Charge De Klerk with their treason vercingetorics The only thing which can revive/save MyAnc is to lose elections, sothat the factions within can eat a humble pie vercingetorics We hve a dwindling middle class. A collapsed infrastructure. Moral & cultural corruption. Bankrupt society. We r helpless & tied down cause the ANC know they will remain in power cause they have a unconscious BASE. Tactical play by keeping education arms length from the MAJORITY
vercingetorics Pretty difficult not to say something but then again I'm going to repeat what everyone else is or was saying. I hate repetition. Anyhow, what ever I was going to say isn't going to change the economic situation for the better. Hence I'm not wasting energy. Bandwagons are not good szavanna vercingetorics Very true. Why So many people support the ANC?
vercingetorics Main problem is that those who are in now is their time to eat. The circle ⭕️ will go on and on until we start eating each other. No politician can save this country only civil society to reorganize! vercingetorics What happened Stratcom? Deserting a man you funded? vercingetorics Thanx for reminding me about the surplus. I will tell my grandkids about those days.
vercingetorics Excellent article and a well deserved rebuke of those who would seek to make this a racist issue, and also to those who exhorted everyone to vote ANC to support Cyril. He was never the savior mangalani vercingetorics They thought so with Zanu-PF but Zanu is still governing Zimbabwe even today. People will now realize that if elections or voting really changed anything they would have been illegal.
ANC councillors gang up with DA and EFF to topple mayors and speakersThe upcoming Mpumalanga ANC conference is causing pandemonium on the ground as the party’s councillors collude with the EFF and the DA to topple their mayors and speakers Moer mekaar. We love it. What should be done if the same councillors are being ignored by the same people in their own organization when they raised their concerns or complaints? And such Premier acts as if he/she is untouchable.
vercingetorics And lets just be clear the modernization of the banking & payment system under TM remains mostly well ahead of what the world has to offer..how we fell so far is bloody heartbreaking! (And really what did the NP do? Take us to the brink of civil war servicing 5% of thepopulation) vercingetorics Perhaps one should resist the temptation to assume that when critics say 'the ANC is not able to run anything efficiently', they mean 'black people are not able'. Some do, many don't. Let's start there and move forward. The ANC has over time shed any pretence at giving a shit.
vercingetorics At one stage I was in Pta High Court , ANC leaders in City of Tshwane, brought an urgent application to withdraw a tender of electrification. As Judge Prinsloo was about to enter , a call from Luthuli House came in to inform ANC leaders in Tshwane not to proceed vercingetorics Very true. Mara what’s the alternative? CyrilRamaphosa DDMabuza Magashule_Ace jessieduarte564 PaulMashatile GwedeMantashe1
vercingetorics 1 correction. There are also 'left wing (liberal)' racists. Just as there are 'right wing (conservative)' blacks and other people of colour. Other than that, its a tough read but spot on. vercingetorics It is impossible to not agree with you. My question is - who the hell follows them up. I don't see any hope in the current crop of political parties offering alternatives.
vercingetorics Just bring in the IMF...let’s take our medicine and start rebuilding our country together. vercingetorics Beautiful piece this.. vercingetorics Wherever you ANC colours you must know they is looting and thieving vercingetorics There is not enough good, honest people in the ANC to safe this country, even more, there is not enough good, honest people on this continent, to save Africa
DA MP calls on Ramaphosa to break away from ANC | IOL NewsDA MP Geordin Hill-Lewis has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to part with factions in the ANC that were opposed to policy ... There wont be a split, they are all too hungry to stay in power and receive the associated perks. It seems like our President can’t handle our Country as he is suppose to but if he can implement his diversion plan then he’ll make difference Perhaps, like I suggested a while back, the president should take over the helm at the DA, and Zille and Steenhuisen should join the FF+? geordinhl EbrahimFakir ferialhaffajee
vercingetorics So, lets all vote anc again. vercingetorics When JZ became Prez in 2008, I saw this writing on the wall and never voted for ANC again. vercingetorics Tough piece to read, and sadly I have to agree with all you've said Sipho vercingetorics u have a corrupt monger as SG a critical position of the ANC
vercingetorics Corruption is the only thing keeping the ANC together. Any serious attempt at reducing corruption will be a direct attack at the existence of the party. vercingetorics I think that all the parties in South Africa today have run their course. We need a new party that unites South Africa instead of dividing it.
vercingetorics this is true vercingetorics ANC's toxic error was not unbundling in 1990: its elements forming new parties, even merging with non-black ones, around policy.. But RaceCardism meant safe ANC majorities with no accountability or checks & balances from fear of defeat. Hence the looting orgy & state fail.
vercingetorics A divided party cannot lead a country and dwelling to apartheid than focusing on current circumstances isn't helping the country vercingetorics We all know tht
ANC postpones much-anticipated NGC to end of July | IOL NewsThe ANC's National General Council, which had initially been planned for June, will now be held from July 30 to August 3 due to party president Cyril Ramaphosa’s international commitments. Hopefully they can depose him while hes away
vercingetorics Too right. The ANC has run its course, and while running missed many turns, options it had to do right by the people of SA. We are now locked in a stubborn bind between their fear of losing power and their hell bent intention on keeping it. vercingetorics Interesting piece though somewhat depressing. Fixing the rot will require decisive leadership, which seems to be absent. There are very few new ideas coming through and the biggest noises are coming from the same people who plunged this country into the current depths of dispair.
vercingetorics ANC will shortly run out of money to govern SA, no more foreign loans to cover essential expenditure, Moody's will downgrade and that will be the beginning of the end. I'm sure that WC has a disaster plan ready but can't say anything for fear of being called racist. vercingetorics It is unfortunate that black governments are so set on socialist policies. (Because they are seen as vehicles for retribution?)These policies never work and caries huge risks of corruption and nepotism.
vercingetorics Can't find one thing in here I disagree with. You have described almost every reason I pondered before eventually withdrawing my ANC vote. vercingetorics Their mistake was to continue being alliedy with Cosatu & SANCO after 94, because those were the two organizations which were supposed to guide the same ANC & put them on their toes on issues concerning our economy through labour & businesses and SANCO through service delivery.
vercingetorics African national fat cats vercingetorics Very very accurate article unless they recycle the party and bring in young intelligent capability in the party, not this old fashioned and stone age individuals vercingetorics These are the views of the drunk journalist(s) in the main are his or her wishes ANC is going nowhere instead their now defunct DA is falling apart
vercingetorics Just say Cyril...

Floyd Shivambu accuses ANC of using GBV as a 'political football' after Sona debate chaosDay one of parliament's debate on President Cyril Ramaphosa's state of the nation address address last week took place on February 18 2020. Floyd is correct It's a playground attraction. Not an adult forum for serious debate.
ANC slams use of gender-based violence as a ploy to score political points | IOL NewsThe African National Congress has slammed the use of gender-based violence as a means of scoring political points. Cc BoyMamabolo 🤣🤣🤣 It backfired on them now they are slamming it. 😂 Don’t worry... just do what Zuma did and go have a shower, it will wash away anything wrong with you apparently...
