Story Behind My Nickname: Clive 'The Dog' Barker

In this edition of Story Behind My Nickname, Clive Barker reveals the origin behind his unique nickname"The Dog".

Barker made history when he led Bafana Bafana to Afcon success in 1996 in what remains South Africa's biggest triumph. Nicknamed"The Dog" because of his surname Barker, the 77-year-old former AmaZulu FC, Mpumalanga Black Aces mentor is also the first coach to have qualified Bafana for the FIFA World Cup, even though he had to eventually make way for Frenchman Phillipe Troussier ahead of the actual tournament.
