Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper William Shongwe has outlined why his former club needs to strengthen their squad even further. Read more ➡️

The Sea Robbers are currently second in the Dstv Premiership standings and look to be finally discovering some consistency.

Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah has also found form in front of goal, but Shongwe believes the Buccaneers will need to make more additions. "Yes Pirates do have the players, but the current coaches didn't sign these players, they were signed by the previous coach," Shongwe tells"You can tell they have something, there's a good understanding and combinations but the goals were not coming."But also players are returning from injury as we saw Thembinkosi Lorch, Zakhele Lepasa back with these being key players.

"But then again now that the CAF Confederations Cup is about to resume, and needing to finish the league strong with the possibility of more injuries, it's a problem. "That's why as a coach now you start thinking, will I manage with this team? Taking into account the travels and congested league fixtures due to the Afcon."So you have to beef up, otherwise you'd be found wanting. The demands of the playing a packed fixture schedule tells me that they must sign players."
