In the recording, someone who is believed to be a company manager can be heard stating that Ramaremisa was being suspended for sending a WhatsApp message to the client, which was a breach of company policy.Ramaremisa told City Press that he was suspended for asking the company’s client about the R500 deduction.This was after he had also lodged a complaint with the National Bargaining Council for the Private Security Sector on December 17.
These included the Unemployment Insurance Fund, December saving, Provident Fund, NBCPSS levy, medical insurance and the “Staff Purchase – Client Claims” of R500, which is the amount under investigation. The company had provided the council with an initial response to the complaint, which had been followed up with a few questions seeking clarity.
“The Bargaining Council is established in terms of the Labour Relations Act number 66 of 1995, as a neutral body to represent both the employers and employees within the sector … We do not have jurisdiction to get involved in operational matters such as suspensions or disciplinary hearings.
