Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has admitted that the controversial R10m scooter project by the Eastern Cape provincial health department does not meet the basic criteria for safe patient transportation.
Mkhize made the concession in a written reply to questions from DA MP Siviwe Gwarube in parliament on Thursday. “No, the scooter project that was launched by the Eastern Cape department of health does not meet the basic criteria for patient transport as an ambulance.
