The South African Human Rights Commission says it will monitor a sample of schools across the country.

For more on this advocate, Andre Gaum from the SA Human Rights commission joins me on skype from Cape Town. CourtesyJOHANNESBURG -The South African Human Rights Commission wants clarity from the Education Department about its decision to open schools to grades 7 and 12 pupils on 1 June.

The commission says it will monitor a sample of schools across the country to establish whether they are ready to welcome children back.The SAHRC will also investigate issues including the safety of teachers and children, access to basic services, and the revised curriculum.Unions and some community sectors are against the reopening, while some experts believe- Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8am to 4pm, Monday to FridaySend HI to 0600 123 456 on WhatsApp.

The NICD has another Clinician Hotline to improve #COVID19 communication and support for healthcare providers. The Clinician Hotline is 0800 11 1131, operating 24 hrs. The Public Hotline is 0800 029 999 also operating 24hrs.

Wow the SAHRC still exists? So they've turnes a blind eye to all the human rights violations that have been happening in the country? Seems like another corrupt government institution

LHR_SA we thank you a lot please be our voice when we can't speak for ourselves and all these experts should be called to Justice for misleading the country as whole and wanting to make our children, teachers and us(parents) the Covid-19 experiment.

My view is that schools are not ready neither are most parents to risk the health and safety of their children as well as those residing in their homes, this should be withdrawn as most teachers are sending work to kids via what's app groups they created
