Johannesburg - The cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has risen to 725 452, with 1 770 new cases identified since the last report, the Health Department said on Saturday.KwaZulu-Natal is in second place with 123124 case - 17% of the national case load.

According to Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, another 46 Covid-19-related deaths were recorded since Friday. Of these;This brings the total number of Covid-19-related deaths since the start of the pandemic to 19 276.The number of recoveries now stand at 654 182, which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 822 973 with 22 150 new tests conducted since Friday’s report.

The country has reported less cases of the novel coronavirus than most in Europe, but has seen a gradual increase in infections since early October.
