But they will need to obtain a permit and be a close family member of the deceased, said Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.The maximum number of funeral attendants still remains at 50.

Dlamini-Zuma said the amendments will enhance the national integrated response measures and clarify the application of the regulations.Only the following persons, who live outside a province or metropolitan and district areas, may attend a funeral: children of the deceased, whether biological, adopted or stepchildren.

A permit holder may stay at a hotel, lodge or guest house for the duration of the funeral or cremation. I feel our leadership is not sure of the decisions that they are taking reviewing the regulations because of some people making noise puts the country at risk of a rapid spread of the virus 🦠. Leaders are not sure of what they are doing I feel they are being bullied in their act

We are facing a pandemic. There is nothing cultural about risking your life where you may get infection, spreading the virus & possibly joining the dead. Family only. Thats leading in saving lives. Not populist nonsense. People will topple Government when things get haywire.

They must change all regulations because they are not sure on what they are doing
