A number of reports have suggested that Lukaku wants a return to Milan after a disappointing season with the Blues, where he only scored eight goals in 26 Premier League matches.
While the Blues look set to lose a striker, coach Thomas Tuchel's main priority is to sign defenders after already parting ways with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. The Daily Mail have reported that the Blues have now asked about the possibility of Inter including central defender Martin Skriniar as part of the deal to send Lukaku the other way.
It is believed that Inter want Lukaku back on loan, but the permanent fee could be brought if Skriniar is used a makeweight in any deal. The report adds that Skriniar is valued at £70million by the Inter boss, while they have already rejected a bid from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
