The South African obsession with referees is honestly unhealthy. Our people need to cut this out. The Springboks are the only reason the All Blacks won this Rugby Championship. Nobody else. We let ourselves down at Ellis Park and Adelaide Oval. Finish and klaar.
I don't like bashing the ref, but the refereeing team, ref, touch judges and tmo, in this case was very poor, both ways, 2/10 for the oerformance
World Rugby must do something about this or they will loose spectators
6/10 why do refs have to speak so much (love their own voices I think) or maybe trying to show who is in charge the whole game. TMO should have more say in the game. Eben needs to stop getting so angry, reminds me of Bismarck.

How much did the ABs pay him to make sure our game failed to flow for more than 12 seconds. The whole officiating team were dire, the teams weren’t much better though.
Poor on many fronts! Irritating voice and was being heard too much! The best refs just say it in a tone that’s understood without repetition. Too highly strung sounding out of his depth! Was there a TMO because he seemed to miss a bunch of stuff?
I loved his interpretation of the knock on, on the Argentinian dead ball line. It didn’t count because it was from a kick off! A knock on is a knock on!

He ran around an blew a whistle and got rid of those pesky cards in his pocket. When he ran around it was fast enough. When he blew the whistle it was loud enough. He held the cards high enough in the air. That’s about it.

Nothing wrong with the ref, he is blowing according to World Rugby rules. WR are ruining the game of rugby we all love to watch with all these yellow and red cards. How can 13 or 14 players against 15 players be competitive in a contact sport like rugby?

Problem for all referees, there is far too much outside input / interference from TMO and AR's this is leading to a lack of consistency of decisions. I say fix that and you fix the referee issue which is shocking across the board at Int. level
