Despite coming under public pressure to reshuffle his Cabinet, President Cyril Ramaphosa would prefer avoiding being pushed into making a hasty announcement, according to political experts. Asked by journalists on Thursday on when the country could expect a Cabinet reshuffle after Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize was last month placed on special leave, Ramaphosa said he needed “time and space”.
On a visit to assess the vaccination rollout programme in Tembisa and in Midrand, Ramaphosa told the media he was still studying the SIU report into Mkhize.“Allow me the time and space to look at that,” responded Ramaphosa. Said Kotze: “With former president Zuma, it would be a few hours before a Sunday evening announcement.
“What we currently have is public perception, but in the end, it is the president who makes a determination.
That is the right MOVE.
