first South African to score a Rugby World Cup final trySouth Africa's two previous World Cup successes, against New Zealand in 1995 and England 12 years later, had seen them kick all their points.

"I didn't make the South Africa schools . It means a lot for me, but also for boys from rural areas, the boys who didn't go to private schools.Meanwhile Mapimpi said"I didn't know about that" when he was told he had scored the Springboks' first World Cup final try. So my question: isn’t this a marvelous opportunity to make a difference and create a special school for take tented players? Or some platform to identify gifted children? Now is such a good time to do so!

GlenLewisSA mapimpi God's grace always come trough in His time not ours. God said I have plans for you, plans not to bring you harm but to make you prosper. From humble biginnings to top of the world. This is your purpose, well done.

Proper role model

Guys I’m all for Rugby South Africa building up rugby in poor communities and reaching out for more players. I would whole heartily love that❤️❤️❤️❤️.

🙏Respect and you are an absolute joy to watch, Thank You from all South Africans 💪🇿🇦

Extremely proud of our Sharks player. He certainly made South Africa proud. First South African to score a try in the final of a world cup. And with help from fellow Sharks player Lukhanya Am. Incredibly proud of them both and our whole South African team. StrongerTogether

He is my player of tournament no doubt about that, and yesterday I knew that he was going to score a Try.

One player i wished to win that World Cup yesterday. Inspiration to the young boys out there in the villages.

Inspiring indeed ✊

This is beautiful! He just spoke for all the kids who deserve these opportunities but aren’t as exposed. 🙏🏾 They exist, they matter.

My Favourite Player. I knew you were gone touch donw in the Final. Dankie My Guy.

what a legend 🍻

SenzanjeBrendon Isn’t he the same one who dedicated that match/victory to Uyinene? 🥺❤️

Big up boy👏👏👏

We are sooooo proud of you! What an achievement 🏆🇿🇦🏆🇿🇦🏆💯

I know what you are talking about, 2004 CACADU SSS played TSHOLOMNQA HIGH SCHOOL

'Mapimpi' keeps ringing in my head after he scored that try. He's my superstar of the tournament

Someone’s chopping onions 😭

Mapimpi is an inspiration to all. Such a humble lad 🇿🇦🏉🏆

Ohh man. Beautiful! Want to give you a hug and share a beer my brother.

Our Springbok Impi....

Hope to see more of you in action in the future Mapimpi.

Well done . You are an inspiration to many ppl. You earn so much respect . Thumbs up

SARugbymag Springboks robertmarawa can we have a biography of all these players especially the black players. After reading Mapimpi's story we have a lot to learn and desire from these guys. We all from poor backgrounds but we tryna hustle our way up. A book bio wont harm us.

We are also proud of u Mampimpi a HOT♨️♨️♨️

All that evil inSA requires to succeed is for good people to remain silent

I’m secretly married to him but only I know that 🤒🤒

The Black Panther!!!!

You're black and poor to be in that team. Rich White parents pay for their children to be in that team.

Sad TRUTH. I kept asking myself if Siya didn't get that scholarship to go to private school, would he have gotten those opportunities? MAPIPI I'm proud that you held on to your passion and persevered. Keep inspiring all those black kids in the rural and townships

It's racism. We want it to be normal for blacks to play rugby.

He deserves a free beer for the next four year. What a hero!

Only private school kids can play national rugby? Oh boy here comes the coat trailing.....

Jacques Olivier played scrum half for his school second team.

He has certainly overcame many challenges..an inspiration to all young rural boys..we need to watch a doccie chronicling ths mans journey to the top of the world

I remember when he was playing for Southern Kings. Even back then you knew that this guy is destined for something great. TandoManana and robertmarawa were always speaking highly of him even when we didn't know much about him.

How dare this photographer go in to take a photo while Mapimpi is sitting on the toilet 💩? Give the champion a break! 😋🇿🇦
