There was a poor turnout at voting stations across Boksburg for the voter registration weekend on February 3 and 4 ahead of the 2024 national and provincial elections.
Party agents for the ANC, Nomsa Mlotshwa and Nomnikelo Mnqatu, who were at the stadium, said they were excited about the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, Joshaphath Pieterse, party agent for the DA, also noted the turnout on Saturday was not good. EFF party agent Jacob Majolo feels that a vote for change is needed because the people of South Africa are suffering.
“You can make a change instead of complaining. The country is not in a good state at the moment. It's a mess. Everything is deteriorating.”The Electoral Commission reported that at the close of registration on day one, more than half a million registrations were recorded at its 23 303 voting stations.
