at ANC members and supporters, the party's deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte said they should “have courage” and “be strong”.“We may have lost a lot of what we worked very hard for, but we have not lost the battle to transform the lives of our people. Most of the wards in our communities are still under an ANC ward councillor and this is what we must remember,” said Duarte
“Our people did not reject us as the DA, EFF and others would wish to make us believe. What we need to do is take two steps backwards to review what we need to do and make sure no single municipality in this country will undermine the lives of our people.” Meanwhile, ANC leader Cyril Ramaphosa accepted the “disappointing” defeat, saying it was an indication the country’s democracy was fast maturing.
“What is unfolding is how democracy works. These are the footsteps of democracy and we have seen it play out throughout the country. And indeed, as the president of the governing party, it is disappointing for the ANC, but that is how we should accept the clear message of our people,” said Ramaphosa.“As the president of the republic, I would like to see stability in our local government sector, that whatever coalitions are being formed will result in stable local government.
“I will call on those who have emerged victorious to ensure that there is a stable government,” he said.
'I is not stupid, am just don't know most things too good.' Mr Ficks it!
His right. We got more % than other parties which doesn't make us to control Municipalities which led to coalitions and in those coalitions we didn't make it. It's simple neh. ANC must go to drawing board and introspect themselves why people don't gave them outright majority
Mr Kak Praat!
I think the ANC in general does understant but Mbalula and Pule Mabe don't.......they are instead blaming among others public broadcaster and everyone else. This is dangerous and hopefully ICASA will set the record straight on the mandate of SABC
Mbalula is smoking nyaope. Ge talks bollocks. The ANC lost elections bcoz people are sick & tired of corruption & looting. They are the architechts of looting & anarchy.
You lost because your leaders stole the money. Your cadres stole the money. Your tenderpreneurs are still stealing the money. Shame on you. Because your leadership did nothing about it

ANC in Gauteng calls for introspection after losing three metrosThe ANC has to consider whether the actions of some individual members contributed to the loss of three Gauteng metros, the party's provincial secretary Jacob Khawe said on Wednesday. They said the same in 2016 and 2019. But when they don't deliver the services, they don't call for such, five years without gauteng tender and SIU should recover some. ACTIONSA and the EFF gave DA a rope to hang themselves by supporting them.
