JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Bheki Cele said that officers would use force where necessary and in line with the law when enforcing lockdown regulations.Last week, the High Court in Pretoria ruled in favor of Collins Khosa’s family, finding that the conduct of SANDF officials implicated in his murder violated human rights.

"The Criminal Procedure Act 49 explains the proportionality you are supposed to use when you arrest citizens. If you arrest a citizen, you don't use any force but it is allowed that you use." "We thought that looking at it that it will have to be appealed, we don't think that we are keen on compliance with that one."

Police will abuse the force.Dont see any of these necessary force use in townships. Rather picking soft targets. Why dont they go try flex there muscles with people thats doing wrong, but surfers and joggers are more dangerous to them. They only danger here in Bheke and his goons

Just abusive behaviour towards the people. Pure use of unnecessary force and resentment towards other people.

SAPoliceService it seems like one of your member is not following Lockdown regulations,as he did not out the mask on

I swear the police have been busier during this lockdown than they have been before this pandemic🙄

But this minister.....

I will use necessary self defence enforcing my human rights. 😊 Simple as that.

Catch me first 🏃‍♀️

The “necessary” part is key. How do they define “necessary” because, so far, it’s been the complete opposite of necessary.

More like unnecessary force.

Image shows police officers not wearing masks? May put others at risk, as they frontline workers?

The law can use as much force as possible....no worries.....PEOPLE HAVE RIGHTS😏😉....

The people will retaliate and start chasing the police out .Just give it time.

Slippery slope..

Again the threats

And more as is shown on videos

Rubbish

Cele should be tried for crimes against humanity

What a stupid comment
