Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has reportedly requested the board sign a €150 million rated striker after Ferran Torres' move to Barcelona. The Premier League giants have seen two forwards opt to leave the Etihad for the Camp Nou in the last two transfer windows as Torres and Sergio Aguero sought greener pastures.Despite the duo's departures, the Manchester club comfortably finds themselves at the top of the EPL table with a 10-point gap over second-placed Chelsea.

However, the Spanish outlet added that the one possible stumbling block could be the Norwegian’s desire to join Real Madrid but Los Blancos are believed to not have the financial strength to match what City may offer the Borussia Dortmund talisman. With Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Isco all expected to become free agents at the end of this campaign, while Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic have also been linked with exits.

This would free up financial room to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe but there are concerns that this will not be enough to afford Haaland’s wage demands.
