Parktown Boys' tragedy: Criminal charges could be laid against those involved

MEC, Panyaza Lesufi, says they are not discounting the possibility of laying criminal charges against those found guilty in playing a part in Parktown Boys' High School tragedy.

Lesufi was speaking at a media briefing following his meeting with the parents. "It's not only about dismissing people, it cut across many things... even if it means we have to remove you at the school, we have to do that," Lesufi said. READ: Enoch Mpianzi's father: I need justice for my son "That's why the parents felt that, don't have a piece-meal approach on this matter... ensure you cover all the fronts because all of us we need accountability, and the reason why the police are involved is that people must be arrested," he said. Lesufi has released his report into the death of Enoch Mpianzi. The 13-year-old Grade 8 pupil died after he drowned at a school orientation camp in the North West. READ: Addressing the media on Friday, Lesufi announced that the principal of the school has been suspended. In addition, he also announced that all district officials involved, are also to be suspended. One of the findings of the investigation is that the school trip wasn't sanctioned by the education department. Source Read more: eNCA

But surely THE Minister is also accountable? You set policy you engage with dept of education... Accountability stops with You Sir First criminals are members of sadtunational who were playing cards, instead of supervising kids, worse teachers ever And those who run initiation schools / camps where how many die a year.... they in jail yet?!

Actually it is true justice to lay criminal charges to both the school and the camp... Why are we still saying 'could'? It must be done. A young black childs life has been taken and we demand action. GE MEC is to be blamed for this tragic childs death. Stop blaming everyone, 'Could be'? As much as this is needed, but justice should never take sides.

10 infants died in Tembisa Hospital. What charges then This one is trying to be a hero. Agree. Same goes for pit toilets. Manholes been left open etc etc

Parktown Boys teachers were allegedly playing games as Enoch Mpianzi drowned | The StarThe Star has reliably uncovered more painful details of a major negligence cover-up in Enoch Mpianzi's tragic death. TheStar_news TheStar_news All I am saying is let us give the investigators space. Speculating and printing allegations will only let emotions run higher. Let us wait for all the facts and judge from there. Velile_Mnyandu TheStar_news Terrible story

Could? It’s a must they are pressed 'Could be' or 'Will be'? They should remove that 'could' and put in 'will' cause action really should be taken.

Parktown Boys' pledges to cooperate with investigationParktown Boys' High said it welcomes the speed with which the Gauteng Education Department is handling the matter. as opposed to? We want true answers. justice for Enoch Mpianzi As they should

Parktown Boys won't break its code of silenceIt appears pleas by Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi for Parktown Boys' High School to do away with the code of silence have fallen on deaf ears.

'Parktown Boys' High used child advocacy group as cover to reinstate the infamous camps' | The StarParktown Boys' High allegedly roped in Women and Men Against Child Abuse to revive the camps for Grade 8 after the scandal around its former water polo coach. EnochMpianzi TheStar_news TheStar_news 'by the 'cruel' governing body' | 'been roped into the cover-up' | 'Sources have alleged that “the WMACA was used as a cover by the cruel SGB” Guys people are already in a frenzy over this.
