The Daily Dispatch reported that family members who suspected their children were among the victims were gathered outside the tavern but were barred from entering the premises. Cele said they initially received reports that a stampede had occurred but said evidence on the scene ruled this theory out. He however, pointed out some faults they found at the tavern, including the fact that it had only one entry and exit point, was in a residential area and was seemingly open to underage children.

I agree with Cele. Why must the govt do the parents’ job? I’ve got a 14 yr old, she knows she can’t even get out of the gate. She knows kids are being trafficked out there. It’s even worse allowing a child to go to a tavern and then the govt must look after her, why?
The Minister is talking nonsense, it's his policies that allows tarvens to operate after 9pm in a residential area! Imagine studying while there's tarven next to your home which plays loud music 🤒😭😭 ! Tarvens in residential area should operate from 10am to 10 pm! So I move
