Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has given an assurance the remaining five South Africans stranded in Sudan will get out. ECRNewsWatch Sudan

"We are going to return the five that are in Sudan. We are coordinating their rescue. In that mission to get them evacuated, we will also assist other nations that have requested us to evacuate their nationals."

The Sudanese capital, Khartoum, has been hit by violence for two weeks as forces loyal to two generals battle each other on the streets.Sudan-fleeing South Africans denied entry at Egyptian borderAt a post-Cabinet briefing on Friday, Ntshavheni expressed cabinet's appreciation to the governments of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates for supporting the evacuation mission.

"Cabinet reiterated the call for an end to hostilities in Sudan, and calls for peace and calm among the parties involved in the conflict, in keeping with the African Union objective of silencing the guns on the continent."
