The Finnish equipment manufacturer said it was selected by NASA to deploy an"ultra-compact, low-power, space-hardened" wireless 4G network on the lunar surface, as part of the US space agency's plan to establish a long-term human presence on the Moon by 2030.

Nokia's network equipment will be installed remotely on the Moon's surface using a lunar hopper built by Intuitive Machines in late 2022, Nokia said."The network will self-configure upon deployment," the firm said in a statement, adding that the wireless technology will allow for"vital command and control functions, remote control of lunar rovers, real-time navigation and streaming of high definition video."

The 4G equipment can be updated to a super-fast 5G network in the future, Nokia said.In all, NASA announced last week it would distribute $370 million to 14 companies to supply"Tipping Point" technologies for its mission, which include robotics and new methods of harvesting the resources required for living on the moon, such as oxygen and energy sources.

WATCH: EFF member goes viral for addressing systemic oppression, racism

Jack Markovitz, the grandson of a former DA MEC, said the situation in Brackenfell was the same as every white neighbourhood in South Africa: racism was instilled in people.

its official there is a man on the moon will be calling you. Bazosibulala laba Why are white people so obsessed with building infrastructure everywhere? 👀 So that the aliens can spy on us? 😂😂😂😂 Will it have a password? On my way to the moon cos the network is terrible here.. ... why? What a spectacular waste of money! There are people starving on Earth, who needs 4G on the moon?

Yay!!!... now I can call ET... We have destroyed our planet earth...now we going to destroy the moon! Why!!!! Why Why? 3310😂😂 They should make astronauts use Nokias. That way their phones won't break if they drop the phone and it comes crashing back to earth. (Don't quote physics to me it's just a joke).

Why tho? With who's permission Very soon we will have some people claiming this is now our country. Foreigners are not welcome 😂😂😂 And. I wonder why we still have poverty 🤔 What is the uses of this 4G? Looking for new clients since no one uses your products anymore. Earth is flat with a super glass dome called Firmament. Earth is stationary. Sun and Moon moves in circulation

Nokia must just give us 3310 again. Insanity People find this funny yet the same people enjoy the benefits of technological advancements made possible by research and innovation. Elon's behind this. His peeps needs better signal to communicate with him on earth. They want to finish us🙄 Ba re why? For who though 🤔

Interplanetary corruption. What's the Wi-Fi password? I told you long ago that we have Aliens somewhere in the moon... And people laughed at me. Look now some of my Conspiracy theories are becoming a reality. If you're unable to get a cell phone signal when you walk your dog around the block, this will really make your blood boil: NASA is putting a 4G network on the moon. To reach its 2028 goal to build a lunar base and eventually sustain a human presence on the 🌙

You really making Nokia and NASA sound dumb with that headline, give some context atleast Review of the first internet shop on the moon: Great Signal, but no atmosphere. Demand vs Supply. Why would you supply 4G when there is no demand for it? Let them go but decepticons won't let them fuck up their shine 🤣🤣

How would they get there because they never did in 1969? amazing work WHY? All we want is a cure for AIDS Why? There goes our moon!!! You Know, One Day Things Will Fall Down On Us... Don't You Think So Vanhu Va Xikwembu? 🤔🤔🤔 Bad idea why Nokia So have they figured out how to get passed the Van Allen radiation belts? 🤔

Will still have better signal there than here in the Karoo When someone is tired he try God MY GROWING INTELLIGENCY LEARN ME THAT WHERE IS Julius_S_Malema where our BRAINS have to be situated.Thinking technology and how improving lives and BRAINS TOGETHER to safe environment where people & animals or living organisms get PROTECTED not strike hair & INDIVIDUALS RACISM

ZakaAseFlopo Good news to me. That’s fucking useful! while im still struggling with 3G😥 Why? Rosette BLOCKS Lunga Ncwane’s marriage WATCH: My first question would be Why? Why? Vodacom i just want it in my hood bro
