NSRI Melkbosstrand duty crew were activated at 7.15pm to assist police on the scene at Table View Beach where a 27-year-old local man had been reported missing to police, NSRI Melkbosstrand duty coxswain Marius Hayes said on Sunday.
It was suspected, but not confirmed, that the man may have gone missing in the surf at about 3pm. A search by police and NSRI Melkbosstrand revealed no sign of the man. Police were investigating and a police dive unit was monitoring the incident, he said.
