Chiefs have noted they remain open to a transfer for a while now though the prospect of that happening in this window is dead as Nurkovic is not yet back to fitness. There are no offers on the table for now despite the club’s willingness to consider bids. Getting about 10 to 12 days of rest, spending time with our families, gave us the opportunity to reflect. AmaKhosi turned down offers that reached R15 million at the end of Nurkovic’s first season before improving his contract which runs up at the end of the season with an option of another season. Coming back this year, and the second round of the league games, it's going to be demanding.

That Chiefs will exercise the option is not guaranteed. In our six days of training, the boys look good, even those who are coming back from injury like Samir (Nurkovic). From the impressive first season that Nurkovic had scored 14 goals, he went down to six last season after missing the opening 14 matches due to contractual differences with the club and injury. This season – his third at the club – has been blighted by injury again and had not scored when he underwent surgery in September. Lebo also looks good," Zwane said via the Amakhosi media department.
