The B-BBEE Commission says a Nigerian-born man who became a naturalised South African in 2009 does not qualify as black in terms of the law. Stock photo.A Nigerian-born naturalised South African man has been found to have misrepresented his company's BEE credentials to benefit from government tenders.
The consulting company claimed it was 100% black-owned. The commission said this was not the case as Ademoye does not qualify to benefit under the B-BBEE Act.
The public policy is clear on these matters and the real beneficiaries must benefit.
