Nearly 18,000 illegal foreign nationals were incarcerated in the country’s correctional facilities in the last five years.

Van der Walt had also inquired about what happens to the illegal foreign nationals when they are eligible for parole and after they have served their sentences.“The department of correctional services is responsible for identifying foreign nationals in its detention facilities and reporting such individuals to the department of home affairs ,” he said.

In cases where the foreign national offender is found to be suitable for parole placement, Lamola said according to the conditions set for all sentenced foreign nationals to be deported, offenders:may not commit crime while on parole; their personal details must be circulated to all SA borders, the SA Police Service and criminal record centres until the expiry of the parole period.

This puts a strain on taxpayers. Why are all these people still in the country illegally? ANC listen to the electorate before it is too late. Or is it?

That's a drop

Putting the country in disrepute and Destroying the good image of SA. Where is the gang saying crime is crime regardless of nationality forgetting that foreigners worsen the already worse problem but they don't want to admit PresidencyZA HomeAffairsSA MbuyiseniNdlozi

Now tax payers must keep and feed them while they're here.

Those they managed to catch. The bulk of them crossed Limpopo river back to their country. They are gonna come back again and continue where they left off bcos they are undocumented.

I wonder how many South Africans that were incarcerated compared to foreigners. PutSouthAfricansFirst

Arrested so they can enjoy meals and shelter provided by tax payers through the correctional services. They must be deported immediately.

Where are they now, deported? I seriously doubt so!

Depot them

18000 in 5 years compared to 1 million SA criminals; 99,99% of foreigners are not criminals; we hate them for no reason that s the real motive but they are here and will stay (the documented 1) untill the second coming of The Lord

18k is nothing

better_SA_fan So the minister of justice who is as young and have experienced how foreign nationals are terrorising our country, has absolutely no plan of action and big statements of concerned about this issue PutSouthAficansFirst Guys wake up, let's strategies and fight back strong.

Take them to Limpopo river

I think pple shud look at themselves b4 making a narrative. SA is home of criminal activities long b4 many foreigners started coming.

That's a drop in an ocean....

TopThestreets RonaldLamola HomeAffairsSA deptoflabour sarstax PutSouthAficansFirst 18k illegal immigrants incarcerated that number is too little considering 5yrs with more than 5million illegal immigrants unless if was 4million deported already, bal 2022 with the help of Crocodiles 🐊.

😂😂😂I bet those figures are not correct.

TopThestreets This needs to be investigated how come only 18k foreign criminals for whole five years?

I really don't understand y these Ministers are tatazeling.. The law is If a foreign national does not have legal stay in South Africa, they must leave the country. Otherwise, they can be arrested, detained and deported, as set out by sections 32 and 34 of the Immigration Act.

HermanMashaba

KETSO_4LIFE remember when we spoke about your foreigners

Naah ...i think actually number is bit higher than this.

Deportation

Solution?

It's a drop in the ocean ,why not 1million

Good

5 years and only 18 000 - U ppl are a dismal failure yhazzz

Foreign prisoners in SA makes 10.5% of the prisoners population in the entire SA prisons according to the below source (Statistics SA)

Thats not enough, SA gov. Shld stop baby sitting other countries. Probably they have used same approach for the last 4 years & expect change. STOP each car, go visit each company/door to door request documents they wll find 18.. illegal immigrants per day.

At our tax payers expense. Malema invited them in.

Deport them why wait?

There's No doubt that the majority of the criminals are Zimbabweans ;yet the government has done NOTHING to stem the tide of illegal Zimbabweans crossing into South Africa!

Bring SANDF do mass deportation, put illegal foreign nationals by the border fence and build camps they eventually go home on their own particularly Zimbabweans and Mozambicans. Incarnate the illegal Nigerians and Congolese until they go home as well.

I'm sharing this because this was exactly how I saw so many posts about Alfred Wakeford and how he’s helping individuals with their BITCOIN or Forex trades and I decided to give it a try and luckly it went well, Contact him via his profile link below 👇👇 Alfrednwake

So what's the way forward as the government notices the problem, or should the public take decision? 🤦🏽‍♂️South Africa
