The national treasury department has approved more than R1 billion for disaster relief following the floods that destroyed infrastructure and displaced thousands of KwaZulu-Natal residents. | WitnessKZN

According to the department, the funds were raised through the re-prioritisation of budgets and the redirecting of grants.
