The channels hopes of opening up the entertainment industry by inviting new talent to audition to become presenters didn’t go as planned after attendees allegedly flouted Covid-19 regulations and the TV station was forced to abandon the audition process.“Due to the events that took place today of people continuing to disregard Covid-19 protocols put in place, all Moja Love auditions have been cancelled indefinitely,” the station said.
One hopeful presenter who travelled from Mahikeng, North West, to attend the auditions expressed heartbreak at the cancellation of the auditions. “I was literally within the first 100 people to audition. When they started counting people, some of them started fighting and wanted to go in. I was left outside on my phone. Then the police came and started arresting us.
“They put me and five people inside a police van. We got arrested. They took us to Booysens Police Station, where we sat until they decided to release us,” said the youngster.Another audition hopeful told City Press that he didn’t even get to the hotel: “I was on my way there when my friend told me that it was a mess. I just went back home.”

And all these ambitious kids - many incurring transport costs they could ill afford and / or buying clothes or having hair done etc... let down by stupid production team who couldn’t figure out that initial auditions could and should have been done through video auditions.
This should never have happened. Producers of MojaLoveTv should’ve asked hopefuls to send in a 30sec audition videos. Even if they provided the script. Then they could’ve made a shortlist and invited them in for an audition. They didn’t think this through.
