Moderna Covid-19 vaccine 'promising' after early trial | Health24com

The vaccine, created by Moderna, produced an immune response in all 45 healthy participants who received two shots 28 days apart, according to findings reported July 14 in theThe vaccine uses messenger RNA, or mRNA, to trigger an immune response to the Covid-19 coronavirus in patients.

More than half of the people given the vaccine developed some side effects, including fatigue, chills, headache and muscle pain. However, only people given the highest dose reported severe adverse effects, and no major safety concerns were identified. "There is a lot of interest in the ability of mRNA vaccines to be the quickest route to a vaccine for emerging pathogens and hopefully this aspiration will be borne out with this vaccine."
