Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription service appears to be bringing in roughly half a billion dollars in revenue every quarter.

“Game Pass as an overall part of our content and services revenue is probably 15%,” Spencer told WSJ.

Spencer also said he does not expect the service to account for a larger chunk of revenue, but that did not mean it wouldn’t see growth. “I think the overall revenue grows so 15% of a bigger number, but we don’t have this future where I think 50-70% of our revenue comes from subscriptions,” Spencer said.

Fallon/Bloomberg Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently revealed that PC Game Pass had seen a year-over-year surge of 159% in users in the first quarter of its 2023 financial year.Based on Spencer’s claimed 15%, Game Pass would have accounted for around $542 million in the quarter.that Microsoft’s “game subscription services for consoles” generated $2.9 billion in revenue in 2021.
