With Cristiano Ronaldo visibly furious with the decision to take him off in Manchester United's game against Brentford on Wednesday, Ralf Rangnick has revealed what was said between him and the player.

After Anthony Elanga and Mason Greenwood gave the Red Devils a 2-0 lead, the German coach decided to substitute the five-time Ballon d'Or winner off, with centre-back Harry Maguire coming on to replace him.The Portuguese forward did not react well to this as he angrily threw his jacket in frustration and sat on the dugout steps while seemingly questioning his manager's decision to take him off.

Rangnick could be seen conversing with the 36-year-old as he seemingly attempted to calm him down and explain the substitution. Following the 3-1 win for the Manchester club, the 63-year-old head coach opened up about what Ronaldo said to him on the bench.
