Ahead of next season, Manchester United have reportedly made a fresh decision on Mason Greenwood’s return to the club at the end of his loan spell. The 22-year-old is on loan at Getafe in LALIGA this campaign, having joined the club from the Red Devils on the final day of the transfer window at the start of the season.
Since his arrival in Madrid, Greenwood has found the back of the net eight times and assisted a further five goals in 26 appearances, making a good impression on his current coach, Jose Bordalas, and his fellow colleagues. Questions have been asked about the one-cap England international's future, with the player set to return to United, where he remains under contract until 2025, in July.
Getafe's hierarchy have suggested they would be open to having Greenwood stay on, while a recent report claimed that Barcelona have contacted the Manchester-based giants over his availability. United's plans, meanwhile, seem to imply the forward is indeed likely to be sold or loaned out again ahead of next season. This comes after new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said recently that a new decision would be made over the left-footed star's future at Old Trafford.
