Major 58-hour water outage in Joburg postponed

Rand Water previously noted that the shutdown would allow it to upgrade the Eikenhof pump station, install isolation valves and tie the A19 and B14 lines with a new pipeline.As per the shutdown notice, areas receiving water from both Rand Water and Johannesburg Water were meant to be affected by the shutdown.

However, hospitals, clinics, schools, police stations, shopping centres and municipal offices would still receive alternative water supply. BusinessTech contacted Rand Water to find out when the outages would now take place, but the group had not responded by the time of publishing.
