Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on Sunday vowed to expel school staff if they were found to have been negligent in the protection of pupils.

Lesufi was speaking to the media after meeting the family of 13-year-old Keamohetswe Shaun Seboko who drowned in the hostel swimming pool at Laerskool Bekker in Magaliesburg, Gauteng.

Seboko's body was found on Wednesday, the same day Parktown Boys' High grade 8 pupil Enoch Mpianzi drowned in the Crocodile River during an orientation camp at the Nyati River and Bush lodge in the North West. Mpianzi was not wearing a life jacket when the pupils' raft on the river capsized — and hLesufi bemoaned the fact that he spent “more time comforting families” than speaking to teachers.“Where it is staff-related negligence, the department will take action.

There is something fishy with Park town boys school, I agree fully heads must roll, there is a lot of negligence there, that story doesn't add up ,bulling aswell police must interview all those children one by one 2get to the truth, otherwise if u listen2principal u wl get zero.

What about expelling those incompetents who fail on fixing your poor IT registration facility. You politicians make me sick with your media bravado. Resign and go do something less challenging.

Who accounted for Life Esidimeni? Who was fired for that? 🤔

Always things go Wrong under lesufi why always him? Ask you self!!

Any death of a pupil at any school is tragic. Threatening staff is a knee jerk reaction by Lesufi. He was very quiet when kids drowned in pit latrines in the Eastern Cape! Did he fire any staff, threaten any ANC cadre's for not building the toilets they were contacted to build?

These kids going and coming home from school face this everyday. Lesufi is extremely quiet about the grades 7 aspect to why we're they only notified two days later after it happened 😱😠😠😠

Seeing that Lesufi is ultimately responsible he should also be expelled. This happened under his watch

I blame Afriforum

Time to draw up a list

Also hospitals turns into butcheries
