JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has once again urged parents to accept the school allocated to their children. He said the issue of space remains a concern for the department, but all children will be placed.Lesufi said,"from this Thursday, parents will receive SMSes to say,"you have applied at School X, and your child has been accepted at School X."

"Remember, we are doing this to avoid confusion. Not everyone will receive the SMSes on the same day. What is key, is that when we send the SMS, you've got 7 days to accept the offer or forfeit it." The MEC says Gauteng capacity for Grade 1 and Grade 8 pupils is 373,000 and has received almost 410,000 applications for placements.
