Klarinet murders: Zinhle Maditla’s family shocked by life sentences for murder of four kids

Maditla’s aunt, Felicia Martin, said her family accepted the sentence out of respect for the law.

Martin was speaking to reporters outside the Mpumalanga High Court, sitting in Middelburg, shortly after Judge Sheila Mphahlele, imposed the sentence. “Whatever happened here, happened through the will of God. We will always support Zinhle. We hope to see her coming back home rehabilitated one day.”Maditla, 25, was arrested on December 30 last year after she handed herself over to the Vosman police station.

Maditla told the court on Tuesday that she killed her children on December 27 by feeding them bread that she had laced with poison after she has a fight with her boyfriend, Mfanafuthi Shongwe, who was also the father of two of the children.
