As the DStv Diski Challenge makes a return this weekend, there are a few Kaizer Chiefs youngsters who could be looking at the opportunity to impress the first team coaches to earn themselves promotion.
The DStv Premiership is on a break this month while the Africa Cup of Nations is being played in Cameroon, so the youngsters in the Diski Challenge will probably get more attention as they look to make progress into the first team and follow in the footsteps of players such as Bruce Bvuma, Njabulo Blom, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Siyabonga Ngezana, Happy Mashiane, Sabelo Radebe and Wiseman Meyiwa, whose career was cut short by a car accident back in 2019.
Aden McCarthy, who is the son of former Amakhosi defender Fabian McCarthy, is another player who is seen as part of the future at Naturena. Like Shabalala, he featured on the first team bench against Sekhukhune. Striker Sibusiso Milazi is a striker who is also tipped for the future at Naturena. He trained with the first team in December while Chiefs struggled with a number of Covid-19 cases.
These are just some of the players who will be looking to make a mark in the second half of the Diski Challenge season, to impress the first team coaches.
